TNI Bureau: Opposing the increased school fee of DAV public school in Cuttack, the parents went on rampage and locked the main gate of the school not allowing the principal to move outside. The parents protested against the increased school fee, which is an extra burden on them.
The massive protest was reported in the DAV school located at CDA Sector 6 in Cuttack on Tuesday. The parents staged a dharana in front of the school. The teachers appealed to the police at Markat Nagar seeking help and safety after the Principal was locked inside the school.
Even the protesters had pelted stones at school and broke the school properties. They said that agitation will continue till their demand is met.
Earlier, the district collector and DCP had intervened into the matter. A meeting was held between the regional director of DAV school and parents to discuss the issue. As the matter is in the Supreme Court, the meeting had decided put the increased fee decision on hold. However, the school management has been putting pressure on the parents asking for fees.
The parents protested against school’s dictatorial policy over tuition fee in the state capital too. They had blocked the road from Chandrasekharpur DAV School to Damana Square. Police tried to convince the parents and controlled the situation.
