Odisha Lokpal Justice PK Patra passes away
TNI Bureau: Odisha Lokpal Justice PK Patra passed away after brief illness. He breathed his last at the age of 72 on Tuesday evening at SCB Medical Collage in Cuttack where he was undergoing treatment.
Patra is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters.
Patra, a former judge of Orissa High Court, was appointed as the Lokpal in Odisha in 2008. He was the judge in the high court from 1999 to 2002.
He was born in Badasuja village in Balangir district. However, he was settled in Cuttack. He was the chief of the commission that probed the Ganjam hooch tragedy where 30 people had died after consuming country-made liquor.
