Pragati Sportings celebrates Golden Jubilee

TNI Bureau: The Pragati Sporting Club in Bhubaneswar celebrated its golden jubilee on January 9, 2013. Former Indian cricket captains Ajit Wadekar, Dilip Vengsarkar and Rahul Dravid attended the function along with renowned Coach Vasu Paranjape.


The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) President and Pragati Sportings President Ranjib Biswal was instrumental in bringing the former India captains together.


On this occasion, Pragati Sportings felicitated its coach Kishore Mania, former Test cricketers Shiv Sunder Das and Debashis Mohanty, former ODI player Sanjay Raul, women cricketers Madhuri Mehta and Roshanara Parvin, physically challenged cricketers Pankaj Bhue abd Md Jaffer IqbaL and S Majhi, Ranji players Basant Mohanty, Amiya Ray, Sritam Das, LB Mohapatra, Satya Ranjan Satpathy abd Tukuna Sahoo.

Sports & Youth Services Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi inaugurated the golden jubilee celebrations, while Chief Secretary Bijay Kumar Patnaik and DGP Prakash Mishra were also present at the occasion.
