Delhi Gangrape Victim identified as Jyoti Singh Pandey

TNI Bureau: The world welcomed the naming of Delhi gangrape victim, who had suffer extreme brutality before succumbing to her injuries. Badri Singh Pandey, a resident of Billia in Uttar Pradesh, has revealed her daughter’s name as Jyoti Singh Pandey. The grieving father revealed this in an interview given to The Sunday People in Britain.

As per the Indian law, the rape victim’s name cannot be revealed for security and protection of her dignity. But since, Jyoti died after fighting for survival, her father decided to name her so that other victims of sex crimes gain courage to speak out about their plight.

“We want the world to know her real name. My daughter didn’t do anything wrong – she died while protecting herself. I am proud of her. Revealing her name will give courage to other women who have survived these attacks. They will find strength from my daughter,” he said.
