Chhath Stampede in Patna: 18 Dead, Many Injured

TNI Bureau: Tragedy struck Bihar’s capital Patna this evening during the Chhath puja, as at least 18 people have been killed in the stampede at Ganga Ghat. The death toll could up further. Many people are said to be injured.

The stampede occurred during the Chhath puja. Thousands of people had gathered to worship Sun god as part of the rituals. The stampede was attributed to the collapse of a temorary bamboo bridge.

The injured have been rushed to the hospitals. Many are still missing. The agitated people have blamed the adminstration for the poor arrangements. The police have cordoned off the area.
