TNI Bureau: Former Odisha Minister BJD MLA from Attabira, Snehangini Chhuria has been appointed as the President of Biju Mahila Janata Dal with immediate effect.

Snehangini, a two-time MLA from Attabira, had served as the Minister, Handloom, Textile & Handicrafts (Ind), SC, Welfare (SC/ST Department State Minister) Mission Shakti (W & CD State Minister) in previous Cabinet.

She was the Secretary of Women’s College, Sambalpur from 1987-89. She also served as the Chairperson of Bheden Panchayat Samiti from 1997 to 2002.

Snehangini Chhuria worked as the G.P.E.O. (Gram Panchayat Extension Officer) at Barpali, Sohela & Bijepur Block of Bargarh district from 2002 to 2009.

She contested from Attabira in 2009 on a BJD ticket, but lost. However, she won in 2014 and 2019.
