RBI not to discontinue Rs 2000 Notes; WhatsApp Forward is a Hoax

TNI Bureau:  A message is being widely circulated on social media that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is taking back all the Rs 2000 currency notes from October 10.

TNI’s fact-check found that the message is a hoax. There has been no such announcement made by the RBI.

The RBI has confirmed that the message circulating on Facebook, Twitter, and Whatsapp is false and there is no such plan.
