As expected, BJD candidate Pratyusha Rajeshwari Singh is heading for a massive victory in Kandhamal Lok Sabha bypoll in Odisha. The BJP and Congress are fighting for the second spot, but BJP seems to have a clear edge at this moment.

As per the latest reports, Pratyusha has so far polled 477,529 votes in the initial rounds of counting. BJP candidate Rudra Madhab Ray has secured 178,661 votes, while Congress candidate Abhimanyu Behera is trailing at third spot with 90,536 votes.

If the trend continues, Pratyusha will win the polls by over three lakh votes. Her late husband Hemendra Chandra Singh had won the polls by 1.81 lakh votes. At that time, BJP had finished a distant third, but recovered well and many finish runners-up this time. The Congress is heading for a disaster in Kandhamal. The Kandhamal results will give a major relief to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his party.
