Even as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav tried to put up a volt face, saying IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal (SDM) was suspended for triggering law and order problems and it was an official decision, Samajwadi Party leader Narendra Bhati made a sensational claim that he got Durga suspended within 41 minutes.
“We talked to CM Akhilesh Yadav. At 11 minutes past 11, SDM’s suspension order was received by the Collector. This is the power of democracy. That woman couldn’t stand for even 40 minutes, as she did bad things. I’ve completed the investigation and the result will be out today,” said Narendra Bhati.
Narendra Bhati is the Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Agro. He tried to retract from his statement after media raked up the issue. He clarified that his statement was misinterpreted and distorted. However, the damage was already done.
The Allahabad High Court will hear a PIL challenging the suspension of Durga Nagpal today. The Centre has also sought a report on this matter. Durga was accused of creating communal disharmony by demolishing an illegal wall of a mosque. However, it is believed that she was targeted, as she took on the sand mafia.
