Santosh Lal – Inventor of ‘Helicopter Shot’ Dies

Santosh Lal, Indian skipper MS Dhoni’s close friend and the man, who taught him the famous ‘Helicopter Shot’, died in New Delhi after a serious illness. Santosh was airlifted to Delhi to be treated for pancreatitis. Dhoni did his best to save his life, but in vain. Santosh was just 32.

Dhoni-Santosh-LalSantosh Lal had also played Ranji Trophy matches with Dhoni for Jharkhand. Dhoni, who is in the US now, came to know about the gravity of his illness a few days ago and arranged an air ambulance so that Santosh could get the best possible treatment in Delhi.

Dhoni had been in touch to make all necessary arrangements related to Lal’s treatment. Jharkhand State Cricket Association had donated Rs one lakh to Lal for his treatment. Many of his friends had also come forward to help.
