The programme, held under the “Save Democracy, Save Constitution” campaign, was attended by several senior advocates, including Indira Jaising, Dr S. Muralidhar and Supreme Court Bar Association President Vikas Singh. Lawyers gathered during the lunch break and reaffirmed the constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.

Speaking on the occasion, Indira Jaising said the lawyers had come together to stand with the students and seek justice for them. She said protecting the rights of students was important and that lawyers had a responsibility to support their cause.

The event took place amid ongoing protests in Delhi over alleged examination paper leaks and recent police action against student demonstrators. Several lawyers’ bodies, including the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association, have also condemned the use of force against students and called for an independent inquiry into the matter.
