TNI Bureau: BJD president and former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik strongly criticised the police action against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other senior opposition leaders during the ongoing protests over the examination issue.
Expressing concern over the use of force against students, Naveen said the entire country was shocked by the police action on protesting students. He also described the manner in which police treated Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders as surprising and condemnable.
While talking to the reporters after returning from Delhi, Naveen hinted at a bigger protest in Odisha and reiterated his demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The former Chief Minister said the incident had raised serious concerns and called for a more responsible approach in dealing with democratic protests and public grievances.
