TNI Bureau: Odisha has been ranked among the top five states in NITI Aayog’s first-ever Investment Friendliness Index (IFI) 2026, marking a major achievement for the state’s investment and industrial ecosystem. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated the people of Odisha, government departments, industry partners, entrepreneurs and investors on the recognition.
The Chief Minister said the ranking reflects Odisha’s commitment to transparent governance, investor-friendly policies, ease of doing business and sustainable industrial development. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership and said the Centre’s reforms and the Double Engine Government have accelerated the state’s progress in infrastructure, connectivity, industrialisation and economic development.
Odisha has been recognised as a top performer alongside Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Goa. The Chief Minister said the recognition validates the state’s continued focus on governance reforms, digital services, time-bound approvals, institutional efficiency and a strong Single Window Clearance system.
He said Odisha is emerging as a diversified manufacturing and services hub, with investments driving industrial growth, employment generation, skill development, innovation and balanced regional development. The state has also strengthened its industrial infrastructure through integrated industrial parks, logistics corridors and improved connectivity.
Reaffirming the government’s vision, Majhi said Odisha will continue to undertake reforms and create a more competitive investment ecosystem to achieve the goal of Samruddha Odisha by 2036 while contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
