Media Entry Restricted to Pahadpur During President, PM Visit

Date:

TNI Bureau: The Mayurbhanj district administration has imposed restrictions on the entry of media personnel to Pahadpur during the proposed visit of President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi later this month.

The District Information and Public Relations Office (DIPRO), Mayurbhanj, informed that President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit the district on June 19, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive on June 20. Both dignitaries are likely to visit Pahadpur on June 20.

Citing elaborate security arrangements for the VVIP visit and acting on inputs received from the Superintendent of Police, Mayurbhanj, the administration stated that media personnel would not be permitted to proceed to or enter Pahadpur on June 20 for coverage of the visit.

The directive, issued with reference to a June 12 communication from the District Intelligence Bureau, Baripada, requested all representatives of print and electronic media to cooperate with the authorities to ensure the smooth conduct of the VVIP visit and strict adherence to security protocols.

The administration termed the matter as “most urgent” and urged media organisations to take note of the restrictions.
