TNI Bureau: Tikhiri gram panchayat Sarpanch Chameli Ojha in Odisha’s Kendrapada district has been granted bail by a court in a case related to alleged attack on police personnel.

The SDJM court granted bail on a bond of ₹30,000 with two sureties. She was arrested on June 14 on charges of allegedly abusing the Mahakalapada Block Development Officer (BDO) and assaulting two police personnel inside the block office.

Ojha had earlier been undergoing treatment at the Kendrapada District Headquarters Hospital and was later sent to judicial custody after discharge. She was again admitted to hospital under security due to health issues.

Meanwhile, Odisha Women Commission Chairperson Sovana Mohanty has sought a detailed report from Kendrapada SP on this entire matter.
