Naveen Patnaik Expresses Strong Disappointment Over NEET-UG 2026 Cancellation

Date:

TNI Bureau: Naveen Patnaik, the former Chief Minister of Odisha and President of the BJD, has voiced significant disapproval regarding the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 examination. This decision comes in response to allegations of a question paper leak, which he has characterized as a profound breach of students’ confidence in the examination framework.

In a statement issued via social media, Patnaik described the cancellation as a “grave setback” to the integrity and reliability of national examinations. He highlighted the considerable dedication of countless students who commit years to rigorous preparation, foregoing personal comfort and sleep, and expending substantial emotional and financial investments to excel in competitive assessments like NEET.

Naveen observed that recurring instances of paper leaks have amplified skepticism and apprehension among aspiring candidates. Furthermore, these issues have put the futures of diligent students at risk, students who rightfully anticipate equity and transparency from the system. Emphasizing that this is not an isolated incident of malpractice concerning NEET, he articulated concerns about the persistent inability to uphold the probity of examinations.

Patnaik further asserted that the nation cannot countenance jeopardizing the prospects of its young citizens, referring to students as the vanguard of India’s future. He advocated for swift accountability and the implementation of urgent remedial actions to reinstate public faith in the examination procedures.

The seasoned politician also underscored the imperative for a more robust and secure system. Such a system, he stated, should provide every student with the assurance that their diligent efforts and perseverance will not again be compromised by administrative oversights or malfeasance.
