Vivekananda’s 150th Birth Anniversary to be celebrated for 1 yr

Press Release: Spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary will be celebrated throughout India for one year, spreading a message of the great soul to the whole world. The celebration will start from January 12, 2013 and end on the same date after a year.

The grand celebration titled as ‘Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Samaroha’ will have the theme ‘Wake up Bharat ! Enlighten the World’! The concept is likely to wake up millions of youth, who believe and follow Vivekananda’s ideology.

The state level committees in all the states of the country have been formed to organise the celebration in which key leaders, thinkers, statesmen, spiritual leaders, volunteers of many social organisations and admirers of Swami Vivekananda will participate.

According to a press release by Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Samaroha Karyalaya, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi will be the president of Rashtriya Samiti and former Secretary General of 7th, 8th & 9th Lok Sabha Hon’ble Dr. Subhash Kashyap has agreed to be the Honorary Chairman of this Samiti where Prof. Aniruddha Deshpande will work as the Secretary.

Besides them, famous columnist, defence expert, social leader Colonel Sarat Kumar Mahapatra (Retd.) will act as State President of Odisha and Educationist Dr. Dhirendra Nanda will work as the State Secretary of this Swami Vivekananda 150th Birth Anniversary Celebration Committee. Moreover, Administrators, Educationists, Social workers, Artists, Doctors and many other reputed personalities of our state have given their consent to work as members of the State Celebration Committee.

The one-year celebration is likely to inspire thousands and youths will come forward to participate in social work without self interest. ‘Panchamukhi’, which consists of five pronged programmes will work by uniting the youths. While Yuva Shakti will be engaged for participation and channelization of massive youth power, Samvardhini will work for the enhancement and participation of women in walks of life. Similarly, Gramayan will respect the contribution of villages and support them in integral development, Asmita will protect and preserve and practice the indigenous faith & culture of Janajati’s of Bharat, and Prabuddha Bharat will work to secure & consolidate the participation of the elites and intellectuals in nation building.

The programmes will be organised at various places of the country. The procession will take place in every town and villages of the country on January 12, 2013. Similarly, the ambitious activity of Samuhik Surya Namaskar by youth from Schools and Colleges will also be a part of the celebrations on 18th February 2013. The Bharat Jago Daud with participation of a large number of youths will also be organised by the Samiti on 11th September 2013, the Vishwa Bandhutva Divas (Chicago Address Day).
