By Chitta Ranjan Choudhury: As expected, School & Mass Education Minister Rabi Narayan Nanda almost repeated the 2008 magic in Jeypore Municipality by powering the BJD win 25 out of 28 seats. Despite the best efforts of Taraprasad Bahinipati, Congress could win just two seats. In Ward No. 5, two-time Councilor and BJD rebel Prafulla Bhatra defeated the official candidate of the party – Livingstone Khosla.

In 2008 ULB polls, the BJD had won 27 out of 28 seats, while Congress had won one. Later, that Congress Councilor joined the BJD, making it 28-0 in favour of the party.
