UIDAI to organise three-day training on Aadhaar at SIRD-Bhubaneswar

Aadhaar-CardUIDAI Regional Office, Hyderabad is organising a Master Trainer’s Training Programme (Training of Trainers) on Aadhaar Seeding, Authentication and Aadhaar Updation in association with the Department of Electronics & IT, Government of Odisha from 1st February to 3rd February, 2016 at State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Panchayati Raj Department, Govt of Odisha, Bhubaneswar.

The Training program is being inaugurated by Sri R. Balakrishnan, IAS, Development Commissioner-cum-
Additional Chief Secretary, Govt of Odisha, in the presence of Shri Pradeep Kumar Jena, IAS, Principal Secretary, Electronics & IT, Govt of Odisha and other senior officials.

It will be presided by Shri M.V.S. Rami Reddy, IAS, Deputy Director General, UIDAI, Hyderabad. Three-one day training program will be conducted each day catering to about 80 participants from 10 districts. This is intended to create a pool of trainers in various line departments (PDS, MGNREGA, Social Welfare, ICDS, Pension, Education, District Information cell etc.) at district level in Odisha.

These trainers are further expected to impart training to various field functionaries involved in seeding, authentication, in the respective districts. This training is significant, as the next logical step after Aadhaar
enrollments is to utilize Aadhar in Service Delivery which involves seeding, authentication.

As of now, approximately 3.25 crore population in Odisha have been given Aadhaar numbers, out of 4.43 crore population (2015 estimate). At All India level, more than 96 crore people have Aadhaar. Utilization of Aadhaar in Service Delivery will enable the governments to deliver services with increased efficiency, transparency and
effectiveness of the reach of the welfare measures. It also helps reduce leakages in the system.
