Many leaders and intellectuals were roughed up by the state police. The cops mandhandled Prof M Kodandaram (57), Convenor of Telangana Joint Action Committee and put him under arrest.

TelanganaHyderabad has turned into a fortress today in the wake of pro-Telangana protests. However, two Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) MLAs scaled the building and hoisted a black flag atop, defying the high-profile security. They were later arrested. TRS MP from Medak Vijaya Shanti too made a dramatic appearance in the Assembly Complex, but was arrested.

TDP MPs from Telangana also joined the protests launched by the TRS and BJP. The Osmania University students too clashed while protesting against the government.
