Taxes on Non-subsidised LPG Cylinders removed

TNI Bureau: Under pressure by opposition parties and allies of UPA II, the government has announced removal of all additional taxes on non-subsidised LPG cylinders. Giving a big relief to the consumers amid high price rise and political tension, the government hopes that the reform policy would boost the economy in coming weeks.

Finance Minister P Chidambaram said that all the additional taxes including Customs duty and Excise duty on the non-subsidised cylinders would be removed, indicating that the prices may go down further.

Days after increasing the diesel prices and putting cap on subsidised LPG cylinders, the government tried to ease the burden from the common men through the latest announcement.
