TNI Bureau: After a brief lull, violence returned to Vani Vihar or Utkal University in Bhubaneswar, as University President Tanmay Swain and six others were attacked by some assailants inside the hostel campus last night.

Tanmay and other injured have been admitted to a nearby private hospital. His condition is said to be critical. A case has been registered at the Sahid Nagar Police Station in this regard.
The police have deployed additional forces to maintain law and order. Goons of rival group are said to be behind the attack. The police have arrested four people so far. The PG Council of Utkal University will hold an emergency meeting later today.
