TNI Bureau: Smoking and Consumption of Liquor have been banned at Circuit Houses across Odisha following directions issued by Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Dr. Arabinda Padhee, during a high-level review meeting on Circuit House management. He also directed officials to ensure better maintenance, cleanliness, transparent booking procedures, improved hospitality services, and stronger safety measures in all Circuit Houses across the state.
Emphasising proper administration under the Odisha Circuit House and Revenue Inspection Bungalow Rules, 1985, Dr. Padhee stressed the need to maintain Circuit Houses as well-managed government properties for officials, dignitaries, judicial officers, public representatives, and government guests.
The meeting also focused on strengthening online booking systems, fire safety measures, and maintenance arrangements. Dr. Padhee directed officials to introduce Wi-Fi facilities and CCTV surveillance in Special Circuit Houses while strictly enforcing the ban on smoking and consumption of intoxicating substances within the premises.
ADM-level and other concerned officials from all districts attended the meeting virtually.
