TNI Bureau: Serious errors have been detected in the newly released English New Year calendar published by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), leading to widespread discontent among intellectuals and devotees.

According to reports, the calendar contains incorrect depictions of the holy Trinity. In the illustrations, Lord Balabhadra has been placed in the position of Lord Jagannath, while Lord Jagannath appears in Balabhadra’s position. As a result, Goddess Subhadra is shown with Jagannath on her right side and Balabhadra on her left, which is contrary to established religious tradition.

The same erroneous images have reportedly been printed across the table calendar, wall calendar, and diary released by the temple administration. Questions have also been raised over the Patta Chitra (traditional painting) used in the calendar, with intellectuals pointing out that such mistakes reflect a lack of sensitivity towards Jagannath culture.

Further controversy has arisen over the depiction of the world-famous Rath Yatra. In the calendar image, the chariots are shown in the wrong order — first Goddess Subhadra, followed by Lord Jagannath, and then Lord Balabhadra. As per established ritual norms, the correct order during Rath Yatra is Lord Balabhadra first, Goddess Subhadra in the middle, and Lord Jagannath last.

These inaccuracies in a publication issued by the Shree Jagannath Temple have caused strong resentment in cultural and intellectual circles. However, no official response has so far been received from the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration regarding the issue.
