Prakash Jha’s multi-starrer political thriller, ‘Satyagraha’ has collected Rs 39 crore in the opening weekend, making it the biggest-ever opening for the Director, who has has given a series of great movies, including ‘Gangajaal’, ‘Rajneeti’,  ‘Aarakshan’ and ‘Chakravyuh’.

The film, which has Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in lead roles, collected Rs 11.21 crore on Friday, Rs 13.08 crore on Saturday and Rs 14.83 crore on Sunday – a total of Rs 39.12 crore.

‘Satyagraha’, which got mixed reviews from the critics, was released in around 2,500 screens across India. The movie is doing exceptionally well, especially among the young masses.
