Religious Places in Puri Dist to reopen from December 23

TNI Bureau: All religious places in Puri District will reopen for public from December 23, informed District Collector Balwant Singh. Local Tehsildars & IICs will deliberate with all stakeholders and make necessary arrangements for darshan in prominent temples like Mangla Temple (Kakatpur) & Alarnath Temple (Brahmagiri).

Local Sarpanchs & RIs will fix modalities for small temples in all rural areas. The Covid-19 guidelines will be strictly enforced.

As announced earlier, the Puri Jagannath Temple will reopen from December 23 for people in Puri. On December 23 and 24, Servitors and their families would be allowed darshan.

Later, residents of different wards in Puri Town will be allowed to have darshan in Puri Jagannath Temple in a phased manner.

Srimandir will be open for devotees outside Puri from January 3, 2021. All devotees who visit the Jagannath Temple (whether from Puri or outside), will have to carry their Voter ID cards or Aadhar Cards.
