TNI Bureau: The Odisha government has appointed Rashmi Ranjan Swain as the Chairman of the Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC), entrusting the former IPS officer with the responsibility of overseeing recruitment to the state’s uniformed services.
Swain, a 1991-batch IPS officer, brings with him extensive experience in policing and administration. He previously served as the Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir and held several key positions during his career in the police service. Known for his work in handling complex security challenges, he has built a reputation for professionalism and strong leadership.
The OUSSSC is responsible for conducting recruitment for various uniformed posts in the state, including constables and other support staff in police and allied departments. With Swain at the helm, the commission is expected to focus on ensuring transparent, efficient, and merit-based recruitment.
Officials said the appointment is aimed at strengthening institutional credibility and improving the recruitment process in the uniformed services.
