At a public function, the President inaugurated the Planetarium and Science Centre along with the Nirmal Munda Parivesh Path. Later, she also dedicated the Tribal Museum and the Integrated Command and Control Centre to the public, strengthening both educational infrastructure and urban governance mechanisms in the city.

Addressing the gathering, President Murmu highlighted the natural beauty and cultural richness of Sundargarh district. She noted that its dense forests, hills, waterfalls, and rivers contribute to its unique charm, while its vibrant folk traditions and heritage add to Odisha’s cultural diversity. She also described Sundargarh as a land known for its brave people and strong sporting culture.

The President emphasized the cosmopolitan nature of Rourkela, where people from across India reside for employment and livelihood. She said the city has played a pioneering role in promoting art, literature, tribal traditions, and sports in Odisha.

Highlighting inclusive growth, she stated that the development of the nation depends on the progress of every section of society. Both the Central and State governments, she said, are implementing various welfare schemes aimed at uplifting tribal communities, particularly in districts like Sundargarh.

President Murmu urged citizens to actively participate in nation-building and extend support to those left behind. She called on people to strive for collective progress and social responsibility.

Looking ahead, she noted that India is steadily moving towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, marking 100 years of independence. She also pointed out that Odisha will celebrate 100 years of its formation in 2036. Achieving the vision of a “Viksit Odisha” and “Viksit Bharat,” she said, would require collective effort from all sections of society, including farmers, workers, tribal communities, youth, and both rural and urban populations.
