OSEM Members donate 50 Bottles of Blood in Bhubaneswar

TNI Bureau: Members of Orissa Society of Electronic Media Persons (OSEM) have taken a great step by donating 50 bottles of blood at a blood donation camp organised at Soochana Bhavan, Bhubaneswar on Sunday. Shri Arun Kumar Sahoo, Minister, Energy and I&PR, was present at the camp along with OSEM patrons.

Khurda M.L.A. Mr Rajendra Sahu and OSEM patrons, Prasanta Patnaik, Sampad Mohapatra and D.N. Singh were also present at the camp. President of the organisation Amiya Pani along with Sabyasachi Panigrahi and other members conducted the camp with the staff members of Bhubaneswar Blood Bank’s active cooperation and guidance. A large number of women also donated blood.

According to Dr. Debasis and Dr. Hati, such noble of gesture by the electronic media persons of Bhubaneswar should inspire media persons all over the country, which can have tremendous impact in motivating people from different goes of life. They said as far as their information goes, no where the media persons have shown such noble gesture. Dr Debasid said, Blood donation is equivalent to organ donation as it also contains live tissues.

This was the second blood donation camp organised by OSEM. Last year it has organised a camp on 1st October, 2-011, the World Blood Donation Day during which over 100 bottles of blood were collected. The OESM has kept a target to collect more blood in the coming years. Besides organising mass blood donation camps, members of OSEM also donate blood to needy and poor patients liberally as and when required.
