Addressing a press conference, Gen Dwivedi said the operation had reset strategic assumptions by enabling the Indian armed forces to strike deep across the border to dismantle terror infrastructure, thereby puncturing Pakistan’s long-standing nuclear rhetoric. He described Operation Sindoor as India’s calibrated and resolute response to cross-border terrorism, reflecting military readiness, precision, and strategic clarity.

The Army chief said the Indian Army had mobilised its forces and remained fully prepared for ground operations, if required.

Commenting on the broader security situation, Gen Dwivedi said the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China remains stable, though it requires constant vigilance. He noted that renewed contact and confidence-building measures are contributing to gradual normalisation along the northern front, alongside ongoing capability development and infrastructure enhancement under a whole-of-government approach.

He added that the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir remains sensitive but firmly under control, with the Army maintaining a strong operational posture across all fronts.
