TNI Bureau: Odisha Vigilance carried out simultaneous searches at four locations in Malkangiri and Nabarangpur districts in connection with allegations of possession of disproportionate assets against Nihar Ranjan Sarkar, a Junior Engineer posted at Malkangiri Block.

According to official sources, the searches are being conducted on the basis of warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore. The operation is being led by four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), assisted by seven Inspectors and other supporting staff of the Vigilance Department.

Vigilance teams conducted searches at his triple-storeyed residential building located at Jayanagar in Malkangiri town, his paternal house at MPV-10 under Kalimela police limits in Malkangiri district, a house belonging to his relative at Raighar in Nabarangpur district, and his office chamber at the office of the Block Development Officer (BDO), Malkangiri.

The searches are part of an ongoing investigation to ascertain whether the Junior Engineer has accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Further details are awaited as the operation is still underway.
