TNI Bureau: The Revenue & Disaster Management Department of the Government of Odisha has issued a public notice proposing changes to the names of certain places across the state to restore their original Odia names and reflect the state’s linguistic, historical and cultural heritage in official records.
Details of the proposed name changes are provided in an annexure attached to the notice. The government has invited all affected stakeholders to submit their objections or suggestions in writing, along with supporting documents, within 15 days from the date of publication.
Objections received after the stipulated period will not be considered. If no objections are received within the prescribed time, the government will presume public consent and proceed with the renaming process as per law.
