Key Highlights

? 2nd #CoronaVirus positive case found in Odisha.

? He came in contact with 46 people. 43 people traced. Remaining being traced on war footing.

? Out of 66 samples, 60 found negative. 2 positive & results of 4 awaited.

? Govt looking into reports of contact from infected person at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

? Madhu babu pension for 4 months – April, May, June & July will be given in advance to beneficiaries at village level instead of panchayat level on March 22 & 23.

? All SC/ST hostels across #Odisha to be shut from March 25 till June 15, 2020. Pre-Matric scholarship will be provided to parents of students in 3 months advance – Rs 2,400 for Girls, Rs 2250 for Boys.

? #Odisha Govt orders closure of all stand-alone restaurants, bars, coffee shops, canteens and eateries till further orders.

? Restrictions imposed on congregation of more than 7 people at any place.

? All markets, shopping complexes, village haats etc. will be regulated to allow only sale of food items including groceries, vegetables, meat, chicken, fish, egg and other essential conveniences and daily need items.

? No meetings in Govt Offices other than those related to #COVID2019 or regarding maintenance of basic services. Cabinet & empowered group of meetings to be held through videoconferencing.

? Official functions including commemorations and garlanding of statues, suspended.

? Reports of misbehavior with tourists matter of concern. It would dent the image of Odisha as well as the Nation.

? Social boycott of #CoronaVirus positive patients & their families after recovery and manhandling of foreign tourists won’t be tolerated.

? No physical press briefing by #Odisha Govt from tomorrow. All information will be provided via video conferencing & online mediums.

? At the video conferencing held by PM Modi with CMs, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik sought financial support for MGNREGS workers (minimum of 50 days wage), families covered under NFSA, additional instalments in PM KISAN for Farmers, economic package for various sectors/construction workers. He also urged PM Modi to distribute funds to the states in advance.

? CM Naveen also suggested to scale up testing facilities both public and private and make them free. He also sought availability of protection equipment, masks for healthcare personnel and critical care equipment in huge quantity.

? ‘Odd Even’ formula launched in #Bhubaneswar . Applicable to public transport system including Busses, Taxis, Auto-rickshaws. Vehicles having Odd Regn. numbers to ply on Odd days; those having Even Regn. numbers to operate on Even days. NNobar on private vehicles.

? All ON (that allows consumption of the liquor on its premises) Shops closed across #Odisha until further orders.
