The Congress Party received a major boost in Odisha, as it won all three NAC Chairperson posts in the state, giving a big jolt to ruling BJD and other opposition party BJP. All three NAC seats were occupied by the women candidates.

In Attabira (Bargarh), Congress and BJD had won six seats each. However, since the BJD could not put up a Scheduled Caste (SC) woman candidate for this reserved seat, Congress candidate Sunita Bag was elected as the Chairperson unopposed.
