No Screening of ‘Vishwaroopam’ in Andhra Pradesh

TNI Bureau: After Tamil Nadu, Kamal Haasan’s “Vishwaroopam” was not allowed to be screened today in the theatres of Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad police prohibited the screening of the controversial film in communally sensitive zones only for Friday on Milad-un-Nabi festival.

The move came a day after the Madras High Court put a sty order on ‘Vishwaroopam’ till January 28. The judge will hear the case after watching the film on January 26.

After Tamil Nadu government banned Kamal Haasan’s film following the protests by some Muslim groups, the actor had moved the High Court, seeking the lift ban order. He had termed the protests as cultural terrorism, which needs to be stopped.
