Nachika Linga surrenders before Police
Nachika Linga, the leader of tribal ultra outfit Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh (CMAS), today surrendered before Narayanpatna police station of Koraput district. He will be produced in the court, said Shri Y.K.Jethwa, I.G. of Police, Koraput.
The CMAS leader carries a non-bilable warrant in connection with numerous criminal cases like murder, abduction etc. As many as 28 criminal cases have been registered against him. Notably, a reward of Rs 5lakh was hanging on his head.
The CMAS was created in 2008 with the motto of Jameen Mukti, Mada Mukti, Goti Mukti (Struggle for land, emancipation from alcoholism and bonded labour)” from the non tribal people, who they believe, enslave the tribals of Narayanpatna and Bandhungam areas of Koraput district.
It is also alleged that the CMAS has Maoist connection and hundreds of non-tribal families of that region are violently forced to leave their agriculture-land and homes for the tribals.
