Maoists claim Responsibility for Chhattisgarh Attack

The Maoists have issued a press release, claiming full responsibility for the attack on Congress leaders and cadres, which left 30 people dead and 36 others injured. The naxals said that ‘Salwa Judum’ founder Mahendra Karma was the prime target.

The naxals further said that the attack was a revenge for the “atrocities committed by the Salwa Judum, which had the patronage of Mahendra Karma. Chhhattisgarh PCC Chief Nanda Kumar Patel was also on their target.

The press note was sent by Gudsa Usendi, who led the barbaric attack on May 25. The Maoists blamed both Congress and BJP for alleged anti=people policies. Meanwhile, over 1,000 trained security personnel have been dispatched to Sukma forests to launch a major offensive against the ultras.
