20.14 Lakh Voters’ Names Removed during SIR Process in Odisha

Date:

TNI Bureau: Names of 20 lakh 14 thousand voters have been deleted in the State during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, informed State Chief Electoral Officer R.S. Gopalan.

According to the CEO, Odisha currently has 3 crore 13 lakh voters on the electoral roll.

Gopalan said the priority during SIR was to delete names of ineligible persons from the draft list to ensure a clean and updated voter list.

The CEO clarified that if anyone’s name has been deleted by mistake, they can file an application for inclusion. Voters can also check whether their name is on the list by calling their BLO or by visiting the official website.

If a name is not found, eligible citizens aged 18 years and above can apply using Form-6 with Annexure-4 to get their name added to the voter list.

The Election Commission of India has made it easier for citizens to access information related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Anyone can now visit the official ECI website https://voters.eci.gov.in/download-eroll to check details about the SIR process. Through this portal, voters can download the updated electoral roll for their respective state, district, and assembly constituency.

It also allows people to verify whether their name is included in the draft list, and to check details of new additions and deletions made during SIR.
