Lingaraj Temple to reopen from Dec 27; General Darshan from Jan 6

TNI Bureau:  The Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar will reopen from December 27 following Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) & Covid-19 guidelines.

However, from December 27 to 31, only the families of the temple Sevayats will be allowed to enter the 11th century shrine.

As per plans, the general darshan by devotees to the shrine will be allowed from January 6, 2021.

The temple will remain closed on January 1 and 2 in view of possibility of footfall of devotees while on December 3, 4 and 5, darshan will be allowed only for Bhubaneswar residents.

Initially, maximum of 500 devotees will be allowed inside the temple per day. Screening camps will be set up near Temple from 7 AM till 10 PM.

Devotees will not be allowed to enter the temple without a Covid-19 negative test report.

Other Religious places of worship and prayers may reopen in Bhubaneswar by giving  undertaking to follow COVID-19 guidelines.
