Laden’s Son-in-Law captured in Jordan, Sent to US

Date:

Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, the son-in-law of Osama bin Laden, has been captured in Jordan during a joint operation led by Jordan forces and FBI. His arrest is another achievement for the US in the war against terrorism. He will be produced before a New York court on Friday.

Ghaith had served as Al Qaeda’s spokesman. He is accused of conspiring to kill the US nationals. He was the face on videos representing Al Qaeda after 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington.

His arrest sends a message to the extremists threatening to take revenge one after one following the secret operation in Pakistan’s Abbottabad where Osama was killed by US commandos on May 2, 2011.

Ghaith had worked alongside Osama warning more terrorist attacks like 9/11 would continue in the US. Even he was asked for the assistance for Laden after 2001 attacks.
