Date:

Baripada: JMM ex-MP & State President Sudam Marandi along with 98 of his supporters was yesterday sent to jail as their bail plea was rejected by the SDJM here. Three BJD activists were also forwarded to jail against whom police have registered a case on the FIR of ex-MP’s brother.

The JMM have given a bandh call tomorrow  on Nov 26 in protest against the arbitrary arrest of Marandi, while the BJD has given a counter call not to observe any bandh and assured of normal services in every sector. The BJD & JMM leaders have been accusing each other over the recent stalemate & politicisation of a petty issue involving his brother & few of BJD supporters.

The spat between the BJD and JMM in Baripada may give Pyari’s Odisha Janmorcha enough opportunity to enter the region in this backdrop. The Morcha leaders are confident to get people’s support ahead of their massive rally in the town.
