Australia should thank the rain god that one match was washed way, which helped them prevent a 5-0 whitewash. Their agony ended after England won the 5th ODI by 7 wickets (D/L method).
The English side played as a strong unit in the five-match ODI series. They never gave Australia any chance to bounce back. They needed a 5-0 series win to become the World No. 1 side, but rain dashed their hopes in the fourth match.
Australia managed to cling to the No. 1 spot, but just. And, they know they are no longer the invincible side in the world. They are beatable elsewhere in the world.
