TNI Bureau: As the world-famous Joranda Magha Mela is all set to take off at Joranda, the sacred land of the worship of Sunya Brahma, marking 200 years since the emergence of Satya Mahima Dharma, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan extended his greetings on the occasion.
Describing the Joranda Magha Mela as a Mahakumbh of unity, collective prayer, and the continuous sacred fire (Akhanda Dhuni) for global welfare, Pradhan said the unique tradition that originated in Odisha continues to spread the eternal message of peace, equality, and humanity through the worship of Sunya.
He said that in 1826, Prabhu Mahima Swami first revealed himself at the sacred Srikshetra Dham in Puri, where he was known as “Dhulia Gosain” and lived a life of extreme simplicity, sleeping on the ground without using any seat or bed.
After 24 years of intense yogic practice in the forest hermitage of Kapilas, Mahima Swami travelled across Odisha from Dhenkanal, spreading the message of Mahima Dharma. His journey created a spiritual awakening in society, Pradhan said.
Highlighting the relevance of Mahima Gosain’s pure philosophy and the timeless words of saint-poet Bhima Bhoi — “Seeing the immeasurable suffering of living beings, how can I remain at ease? Let my life fall into hell, but let the world be redeemed” — Pradhan said this message remains deeply meaningful in today’s society.
On this auspicious occasion, the Union Minister called upon everyone to commit themselves to the welfare of all and expressed confidence that the selfless ideals of Mahima Dharma would dispel darkness and illuminate the world with peace.
