Baripada: The Congress workers in Mayurbhanj district gheraoed the block offices alleging that the BJD government led by Naveen Patnaik has failed in all fronts. They demanded the resignation of Naveen for massive corruption, deteriorating law & order situation in the state.

The Congress workers gheraoed at least 26 blocks in the tribal district on Monday. Several leaders including Dinakrishna, Harihara Mahanta, President & Vice-President of DCC were detained by the police for the protests.
The agitation came two days after Naveen announced to provide rice at Rs 1 per kg to all the BPL and APL families in the state.
