The project, developed with an investment of ₹26,996 crore, is expected to generate 5,012 jobs and significantly strengthen downstream manufacturing in Western Odisha.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the state is witnessing a new industrial revolution, with nearly ₹20 lakh crore worth of industrial proposals in the pipeline. Once operational, these projects are expected to create around 15 lakh jobs across Odisha.

“Western Odisha is emerging as a global industrial hub where world-class investment meets people-centric development,” Majhi said, adding that industrial growth must translate into better livelihoods, education and healthcare. He stressed that workers are the backbone of industrial success and appealed to people to welcome industries as partners in development.

The inauguration was attended by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Industries and Skill Development Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Sambalpur MLA Jay Narayan Mishra, Rengali MLA Sudarshan Haripal, Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma, senior government officials and Hindalco representatives.

Later in the day, the Chief Minister inaugurated the 25th edition of the CII Enterprise Odisha Exhibition 2026 at Rourkela, where leading companies are showcasing innovations, industrial capabilities and investment opportunities. The event also featured a cultural programme and Rourkela’s first drone show.

The twin events underscored the state government’s focus on employment-led industrialisation, MSME participation, sustainable manufacturing and balanced regional development, positioning Western Odisha as a key driver of Odisha’s industrial future.
