TNI Bureau:  Australia restricted India to 233/6 at Stumps on Day 1 of the first Test match in Adelaide. Wriddhiman Saha (9*) and R Ashwin (15) were at the crease.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat first. Prithvi Shaw was out for a second ball duck. Mayank Agarwal was out for 17. Later, Cheteshwar Pujara (43) and Virat Kohli (74) tried to consolidate the innings. Ajinkya Rahane contrinuted 42. Hanuma Vihari scored 16.

At Stumps, India finished at 233/6. Mitchell Starc has taken two wickets. It would be interesting to see if India can stretch the first innings to 300 or not.
