Odisha vows to correct the elector-population ratio

Date:

In an attempt to correct the elector-population ratio in the state, Odisha government is going to open Voter Sahayaka Kendra and Common Service Centre at district and block levels across the state.

While addressing a press conference on Thursday, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of State, Dr. Mona Sharma said that a massive exercise of house-to-house survey and awareness programme will be conducted, from April 8 to May 7, by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and NSS cadets to collect the required information as well as photographs of the voters.

Details of all the centres with contact number of the concerned officers will be published on the official website within next few days, she added.

Three Sundays on April 21, 28 and May 5 will be designated as special campaign days when BLOs will be present at the booths for assistance.

Besides, the electors can also log on to www.ceoorissa.nic.in and fill in forms and upload relevant documents to apply for enrolment, correction and deletion online in the voters’ list.

In fine, the focus areas of special revision are to enroll the left out voters, correct Elector Percentage ratio and achieve 100 per cent photo identity card coverage.
