Bhubaneswar: The Jet Airways will start its daily flight services from Bhubaneswar to Lucknow from March 31 for the first time after the inauguration of new terminal building at Biju Patnaik airport. Hundreds of daily air passengers will be benefited with the launch of the service.
Flight No. 9W7070 Jet Airways will take off daily at around 9.05 am from Bhubaneswar and it will arrive at 12.25 pm in Lucknow. The passengers seem to be satisfied with the air services after the inauguration of the new terminal on March 5. Even the number of passengers has increased at the airport.
Apart from BBSR-Lucknow services, the airlines will soon start flight operation to other important destinations from Biju Patnaik airport. Two more flights (IndiGo and Jet Airways) will fly from Bhubaneswar to Mumbai and Kolkata respectively.

IndiGo will start its another flight service to Mumbai from April 7. The 6E553, which will take off at 9.45 am from Mumbai and arrive at 11.45 am in Bhubaneswar, will be fifth flight from the airlines to India’s business capital from the temple city. It will be again flown to Mumbai from Bhubaneswar at 12.35 pm. It will arrive there at 2.50 pm.
Similarly, another air service from Jet Airways will be started to Kolkata from May 1. Flight No. 9W2668 will be on board to Kolkata from Bhubaneswar at 11.55 am. The flight will take off at 10.00 am from Kolkata and arrive at 11.25 am in Bhubaneswar. The flight will be sixth one to be operated between Bhubaneswar to Kolkata.
There are 23 daily flights are being operated now from Bhubaneswar to different destinations like New Delhi (5), Hyderabad (2), Bangalore (2), Chennai (2), Port Blair (1), Coimbatore (1), Vizag (1).
