Odia Girl in Special Effect Team in ‘Life of Pi’

Balasore: After Taiwanese-American director Ang Lee’s ‘Life of Pi’ won four awards at the Oscars 2013, celebration started in Balasore for a talented girl, who made Odisha and district proud with her contribution to the film in visual effects, one of the categories the film bagged the Oscar.

Earlier, Odia girls have proved their potentialities in many fields, but for the first time, Anuradha Behera was offered a Hollywood project for her talent in graphics and design. She had played a key role in special effect team of the film.

She takes the credit for giving 3D effects perfectly into the scenes like Bengal Tiger Richard Parker’s power, the natural beauty of the Ocean.

Anuradha is among others, who were the real artists behind the scene in the film ‘Life if Pi’. She works at Hyderabad’s Rhythm & Hue, a special effect studio headquartered in the US, as the Digital Production Coordinator.

Born to Madhusudan Behera and Meera Behera in Balasore’s Rana Sahi, Anuradha studied Journalism and Mass Communication from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan after completing Bachelor Degree in English from Delhi University. She has worked for CNN-IBN and ANI news organisations in Delhi before joining Rhythm & Hue in Hyderabad.
