Odisha to have Online Police Verification of Passports

Date:

TNI Bureau: There is very good news for the people in Odisha, as they will get rid of the cumbersome police verification process in the passport application procedure. The MEA has decided to go for online verification very soon.

The hint was given at the launch of first-ever Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Odisha two days ago. The PSK, which is the 77th such unit in the country, will provide all types of services related to passport application and related activities.

The physical transfer of applications to police will be stopped very soon and it will be replaced with the online process. All police headquarters will have online links and professionals will be trained to handle the stuffs.

All state police headquarters will have hi-tech computer cells. Also, the police stations will have facilities to connect to the headquarters online.
